Sunrisers are delighted that Grace Scrivens has been named ICC Women’s Player of the Month for January, following a hugely successful U19 World Cup campaign.
The all-rounder beat competition from Australians Phoebe Litchfield and Beth Mooney for the award, which was decided by public vote.
After winning the U19 World Cup Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award, Scrivens has already won plenty of plaudits this winter after leading her England side to the final.
Scrivens said: “I’m so happy and amazed to have been voted ICC Women’s Player of the Month. It was a brilliant tournament and one that we really enjoyed. Women’s cricket is in a really exciting place at the minute and it’s just great to be a part of it.”
After hearing about the award, Regional Director of Women’s Cricket Danni Warren said: “We are delighted for Grace to pick up another accolade as she continues her journey. Just months ago, she was putting in fantastic performances for Sunrisers, and now she is sharing this with the wider cricketing community, winning international recognition as she goes.
The development journey that she has gone on since joining our set-up three years ago has been incredible, and the success that she is enjoying is testament to the work that she puts in every day.”
