Sunrisers have named a squad of twelve to travel up to Loughborough for the Development Eleven T20 Finals Day.
Led by Club Coach Robbie Gunn, the Development Eleven side gives opportunities to players pushing for first team selection in the short and medium term, selecting a side from players with the First Team squad, Academy, and those performing for Women’s County sides across the region.
Sunrisers face The Blaze in their semi-final, with Central Sparks competing against Southern Vipers for the other spot in the final.
Games have been played as two T20s in one day, with the top two in the group progressing to Friday’s Finals Day. Sunrisers were placed in a south group, alongside Stars, Storm, and Vipers.
Sunrisers opened the competition with a victory over Southern Vipers, before rain fell to cause a no result in the second game.
They then lost to Western Storm in a thriller at Eastcote CC, with the second match also rained off at the beginning of the first innings.
Sunrisers then completed the double over Stars two weeks ago to book their spot at Finals Day, where they face the Charlotte Edwards Cup champions Blaze at 11am.
We’ll keep you updated with play throughout the day from Loughborough on our social media channels.
