Sunrisers Head Coach Laura Marsh has selected a squad of thirteen to travel to Leeds for this weekend’s Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy fixture, where Sunrisers take on Northern Diamonds on Saturday.
Congratulations to Academy star Jess Olorenshaw, who is called up to the Senior squad for the first time. Should she, or fellow Academy batter Jodi Grewcock, make their debut, they will earn Sunrisers cap number 25.
Gaya Gole also returns to the squad, having missed last weekend’s RHFT opener with shin splints, as she looks to stamp her mark on the 2022 season.
Scarlett Hughes misses the fixture having contracted COVID during the week, but has been isolating away from the squad and will hope to return to full fitness soon. Mia Rogers is also absent, as she is in America with the England Lacrosse squad.
Last weekend, Sunrisers suffered an 80-run defeat at the hands of South East Stars, despite a player of the match performance by Grace Scrivens. Scrivens took 4 wickets for 42 runs with the ball, before hitting a run-a-ball 74 in the reply, and will be looking to add to the performance which saw her become the Sunrisers leading wicket-taker of all time.
The game starts at 10.30am at Headingley. We wish a safe journey to those who are making the journey up to Yorkshire, or you can tune into the Live Stream in our Match Centre on the day.
Sunrisers have named the following squad:
Kelly Castle (captain)

Amara Carr
Kate Coppack
Jo Gardner
Gaya Gole
Jodi Grewcock
Cordelia Griffith
Abtaha Maqsood
