SQUAD AND PREVIEW | STARS v SUNRISERS (14 JULY)

Andy Tennant has named an unchanged thirteen player squad for Sunday’s trip to The County Ground, Beckenham to take on South East Stars in the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Trophy.

Both sides sit in the play-off spots, with just two points between them, with Sunrisers currently sitting in third place on 25 points, and Sunday’s hosts on 23.

Despite an inspired performance with the ball on Wednesday against Diamonds, including three wickets for Kate Coppack, Sunrisers were unable to defend 110 runs and fell to their third loss of the season.

Diamonds bowler Beth Langston was outstanding as she claimed 6 for 24, in tricky overcast conditions early on. Opening pair Coppack and Eva Gray bowled brilliantly in the powerplay, but the hosts held on to complete a four wicket win.

It was a similar scenario for Stars last time out as they fell to a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of Vipers. Having lost the toss and being asked to bat first, Stars were dismissed for 120 runs, with Alice Davidson-Richards top scoring with 35. Vipers comfortably chased down their target after 23 overs.

Stars completed a five-wicket victory in May, the last time the two sides met in the RHFT. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sunrisers put on a solid score of 222, with runs coming throughout the lineup. However half-centuries from Sophia Dunkley and Alice Davidson-Richards guided Stars to their target with just thirteen balls to spare.

The game starts at 10.30am at The County Ground, Beckenham. Entry is free to spectators, with limited parking around the ground.

If you can’t make it to the game, make sure you tune in to watch Stars’ free live stream during the day on their You Tube channel, alongside updates on our social media channels. We wish a safe travel to those of you making the trip.
