SQUAD AND PREVIEW | SUNRISERS v THUNDER (30 JUNE)

Sunrisers Head Coach Andy Tennant has named a squad of fifteen for Sunday’s game against Thunder at Chelmsford, as the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy returns.

After the conclusion of the Charlotte Edwards Cup campaign, we are back in fifty over action with Sunrisers top of the table after an excellent start to the season.

Four victories from six games in April and early May, including three bonus point wins, sees Sunrisers one point clear of Stars and Vipers, but more importantly ten clear of fifth place Thunder.

Sophie Munro extended her loan from The Blaze earlier this week, and is in line to make her RHFT debut for the club and fill the void left by early season overseas star Nic Hancock, who has returned to Australia.

Ariana Dowse and Cordelia Griffith return to the squad, whilst Abtaha Maqsood and Lissy Macleod feature in the RHFT squad for the first time this summer.

Thunder won the early season fixture between the two sides at Old Trafford, thanks to a century from Katie Mack and 89 from Fi Morris. Sunrisers found it tough to bat against a bowling attack led by England internationals Sophie Ecclestone and Kate Cross, who are both unavailable due to the current ODI series against New Zealand.

The game starts at 10.30am at The Cloud County Ground, Chelmsford. Tickets can be purchased on the gate at £10 for adults and £5 for U18, whilst entry is free for Essex, Middlesex, and Northamptonshire members.
