SUNRISERS SIGN NICOLA HANCOCK

Sunrisers are delighted to complete the overseas signing of Nicola Hancock for the first six games of the 2024 season.

Australian Hancock, 28, arrives on a contract that lasts until Wednesday 8 May, which will see her eligible to play in the first six Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy fixtures.

She comes in to bolster the Sunrisers bowling attack with her right-arm seam, whilst providing a useful option with the bat lower down the order.

Born in Melbourne, Hancock represents Queensland in the Women’s National Cricket League, and has been part of the Brisbane Heat squad in the past four editions of the WBBL. She took three wickets in the WBBL Final in December, finishing joint-third in the competition wicket standings with 23.

After securing Hancock’s signature Sunrisers Head Coach, Andy Tennant, commented: “We are delighted that Nic is able to join us for the first block of Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy games. Nic brings a strong skill set that will bolster our seam bowling unit, as well as some great experience, and is the kind of character that we believe will help move our young playing group forward.”

Hancock said: “I am really looking forward to this opportunity with Sunrisers, and excited to be joining the group! The London cold might give me a shock but getting out on the pitch with the team will keep me warm!”

She will wear shirt number 48. Please join us in welcoming Nicola to the Club!
