Today saw the publication of a report by the Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket (ICEC). You can access it by clicking here.
The ICEC, which is independent of ECB, was set up in March 2021 to evaluate the state of equity in cricket in the UK, to examine discrimination and inequity where it exists and to identify opportunities to tackle the problems. That process continued with a call for evidence in November 2021 and has resulted in the report published today.
There is a lot to digest in the ICEC's comprehensive report, and like all in the game, Sunrisers welcome the findings of the report and will take time to reflect on the matters raised. We are wholly committed to playing our part in making cricket a game for all.
Sunrisers look forward to working with all our partners, across the region and nationally, to continue to deliver our stated missions:
- Deliver a successful and entertaining Sunrisers Senior Team, who inspire people across the region to consider cricket as a key component in their lives.
- Identify and develop cricketers from across the region with the skills to progress to representation at Sunrisers Senior level and beyond.
- Create a fully integrated pathway that ensures all stakeholders can access and enjoy cricket easily, and at the level appropriate to them.
